A public profile does not guarantee a readable game list. Counts and shares below describe available signals, not the complete audience.

Interest in Venn titles within each cohort

Observed wishlists and follows for each Venn game. This measures signals within a cohort; it does not measure overlap between the hub rosters.

Three hubs, three sets of interests

The readable profiles share familiar PC games, but the wishlists and followed games suggest different interests for each hub. These are audience hypotheses from observed lists, rather than measured player motivations.

Dark Island: atmosphere and fantasy

Dark Island is the largest cohort, with 2,576 hub followers. Its wishlist highlights include Tenebyss (269) and Light No Fire (248); followed games include ELDEN RING (193) and Fatekeeper (186). Together, these support testing dark fantasy, exploration and atmosphere in marketing messages.

Rogue Reigns: systems and deckbuilders

Among 565 Rogue Reigns followers, Slay the Spire 2 has 64 observed follows and Hades II has 61. The owned highlights include Left 4 Dead 2 and Vermintide 2. This suggests testing deckbuilding and replayable systems alongside the audience’s existing co-op interests. It does not establish that deckbuilders are the cohort’s most-played genre.

Paradoxical: familiar classics and unfamiliar worlds

Among 443 Paradoxical followers, Portal 2 (185 owners), Half-Life 2 (178) and Portal (175) lead the curated owned highlights. THE LIFT has 101 observed wishlisters and 89 follows. These signals suggest testing puzzle and surreal-world messaging without assuming that all followers prefer puzzles.

What we can use this for

  • Build separate comparable-game shortlists for each hub. A combined ranking is heavily influenced by the larger Dark Island cohort.
  • Compare counts together with roster percentages. A smaller cohort can have a stronger observed share even when its count is lower.
  • Treat ownership, wishlists and follows as separate signals. Ownership is not proof of play; a wishlist is not a purchase.
  • Test messaging hypotheses with campaign and Steam UTM results. The profile study itself does not measure conversion.

Method and limits

The study uses the follower roster for each Steam community hub and counts distinct profiles per game within each cohort. A person following multiple Venn hubs appears in each relevant cohort; the combined roster is deduplicated. Cohort totals cannot be added to produce a unique audience or an exact count of people who follow multiple hubs.

Coverage matters. Only 1,545 of the 3,492 profiles expose a usable owned-games list. Missing lists are unknown, rather than evidence that someone does not own a game. The displayed shares divide observed counts by the full roster, so they are lower bounds for ownership in this roster. Profiles with readable data may differ from profiles with hidden data.

Rankings are selected highlights. The explorer shows the three leading named games supplied for each cut, rather than a complete library export. Owned highlights exclude tools, redistributables, deathmatch packages and the cohort’s own Venn title. Wishlist and followed highlights retain Venn titles. Existing interest in our games is part of how this audience was selected.

Tags overlap. The tag scores sum owners, wishlisters and followers across approximately 97 selected high-affinity apps. An app contributes its score to several tags, and the same person can contribute several times. Scores are neither percentages nor counts of unique players, and do not describe every app in the scraped libraries.

“Indie” follows the source classification. The filter uses the Steam store’s Indie genre when available, then the Indie user tag as a fallback. The source classified 222 selected apps, including 93 indie apps; one app was unknown. This is a metadata filter, not an independent judgment about a studio’s size, funding or publisher.

Two report snapshots remain separate. The combined report uses 3,492 profiles. The per-game and indie report uses a prior combined sample of 3,493; its indie counts therefore differ slightly. The explorer keeps the denominator printed in each report. These changes should not be interpreted as audience growth or loss.

Ownership is not engagement. Zero recorded hours may mean an unplayed game or unavailable playtime. This page does not infer active play, demographics, purchase intent or spending from ownership alone. The sample consists of existing Venn hub followers, rather than a representative sample of Steam users.

Next research questions

The handover proposes studying Dark Island wishlisters separately, measuring actual overlap between follower rosters, and making a smaller comparable-title shortlist for comparable-title research or curator outreach. Those analyses are still pending; this page does not present them as completed findings.
